After loosing a close friend on GSX, I turned to a cruisers, since 1999, I have been using different Viragos and attached with this mail is my 97 Yam535 currently Im having.
The Bike : I kept the engine relatively stock, except a Cobra jet-kit to make some extra ponies. Canister cleaned up and cut bafflers, air filter scoop removed to breath the engine freely. After market micro turn signals replaced the standards, a smaller head light raised 2 inch up to give a longer look to forklegs. lower triple-tree cover removed. A fly screen from Yam Enticer (125CC Indian version) gives some minimal protection, all the work done at local Yam dealer (Sultan Salem & Sons-not to mention, very nice people). To give some nostalgic OLDSCOOL look, I painted rear tyre with white walls and re-trimmed seat cover to match tire wall.
Ride and about Kuwait :
I ride to on Thursdays and Fridays and as Kuwait is a small pot, the longest stretch I can do a 150-200kms from border-to-border. Im more like a solitary rider, as there is no Star or Virago oriented groups in Kuwait, but a huge presence of HOG family show-off with fully dressed up bling-blings (mostly Kuwaities) which really kicks up the cruiser market in Kuwait. Occasionally small group of US servicemen do come out with Harleys from their Camps.
Well, during my collage days, I almost covered South Indian states on my
RD350, though the traffic is much different from today, Enfield India and Taj
group is organizing some bike trips around South. Im originally from South
Indian state of Kerala (used to refer as Gods own country by tourists).
