Where to start
. Its like that old Johnny Cash song .. it's a 81, 82,
83 ,84, 85, 86
XV ????
I started out with a 700 and built up from there. It has a 750 lower end from
a 81-83, cylinders punched & rebored from an 83. It has over-sized piston
& revamped 1000 heads. I have never put it on dynometer to check the actual
horse power it has. Had to rewire the entire machine because the CDI had to
match up from the 700
.tried 4 CDI's before I got it right. It has after
market Jardine pipes, forward controls, Harley horns, & a custom paint job
by Val of Shapley Forms Paint (Spokane WA). I spent an entire winter rebuilding
& reworking the entire bike from top to bottom.
If you think this is something, you should see my wife's bike & my
road captains bike.
My road captain took an 81 XV750 & put a Harley front end on it. Talk
about a wiring nightmare!!!
